Mumbai: Dogs are more than just pets — they’re loyal companions, stress-busting cuddle balls, and an endless source of unconditional love. This International Dog Day, &TV’s beloved stars open up about their paw-some bonds with their four-legged friends and how these loyal companions make life brighter, warmer, and infinitely more joyful.
Paras Arora: “Dusty and Oreo are like family”
Paras Arora, who will soon be seen as Jeetu in the upcoming &TV show Gharwali Pedwali, shares his fondness for two furry friends he didn’t adopt but loves like his own.
“One of my closest friends has two dogs, Dusty and Oreo, and I absolutely adore them. They’re like family to me, and I make it a point to spend quality time with them whenever I can. Whether it’s a game of fetch, a walk in the park, or just chilling with them while they seek attention, those moments bring me so much joy,” he says with a smile.
“The energy and love they shower on me is pure magic. Spending time with them helps me disconnect from stress and reconnect with happiness.”
Geetanjali Mishra: “Bum Bum is my baby”
For Geetanjali Mishra, known for her role as Rajesh in Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, her dog Bum Bum is no less than a divine blessing.
“Bum Bum is like a child to me. His bark had this unique rhythm that reminded me of ‘Bum Bum Bhole,’ a chant of Lord Shiva, and that’s how he got his name,” she shares fondly.
“He fills my home with positivity and no matter how tiring my day has been, he always lifts my spirits. Honestly, whenever I visit friends with dogs, I end up spending more time with their pets than them — they’ve started teasing me about it!” she laughs.
On this special day, Geetanjali adds a heartfelt message: “Let’s all be more compassionate toward voiceless beings. A little love and kindness can make the world a better place.”
Vidisha Srivastava: “Foxy is my heart, my healer”
For Vidisha Srivastava, aka Anita Bhabi from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, her dog Foxy is more than a companion — he’s her emotional anchor.
“Foxy is not just a pet; he’s my best friend, my family. His playful antics, unwavering loyalty, and the way he senses my moods make him incredibly special to me,” she shares.
“No matter how exhausting the day has been, Foxy’s love instantly recharges me. The warmth and happiness he brings into my home is beyond words. I genuinely believe dogs make us better humans.”
She signs off with a cheerful wish: “Happy International Dog Day to all the dog lovers out there. Give your furry friend an extra cuddle today!”
This International Dog Day, let's celebrate the pure, tail-wagging joy our furry friends bring into our lives. Whether it’s through playful zoomies, soulful eyes, or simply sitting beside us in silence — they show us what true love really means.
