Deepti Naval and Kalki Koechlin's Goldfish sizzles at India premiere at IFFI

  Mumbai: Goldfish, an English-language feature starring veteran actress Deepti Naval and Kalki Koechlin, had its India Premiere to a packed house of audience at the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI).     The film had a Gala Screening at the festival held from 20th - 28th November in Goa.     Veteran actor Deepti Naval and Kalki Koechlin who play mother and daughter in the film looked dazzling on the red carpet.     Director Pushan Kripalani, producer Amit Saxena and Executive Producer Pooja Chauhan were also present at the screening.    Goldfish deals with memory and identity. Anamika, the child of a mixed marriage, returns home to her estranged mother Sadhana because she is suffering from the onset of dementia. Ana returns to a neighborhood she barely remembers, to a woman who sometimes doesn’t remember her.    Apart from Deepti Naval and Kalki Koechlin who play the lead roles of mother and daughter, the film also stars the prolific actors Rajit Kapur, Gordon Warnecke

53rd edition of International Film Festival of India inaugurated

Mumbai: The 53rd edition of International Film Festival of India (IFFI)  kicked off with a spectacular entertainment program in Goa on Sunday.       Film personalities Mrunal Takhur, Varun Dhawan, Catherine Teresa, Sara Ali Khan, Karthik Aryan, Amritha Khanvilkar, Paresh Rawal, Sunil Shetty, Manoj Bajpayee, Prasoon Joshi, Vaani Tripathi, Ajay Devgan, Prabhu Deva, Shreya Sharan, Pankaj Tripathi, Vijendra Prasad attended the opening ceremony.      The opening ceremony began with a brilliant performance of actor Mrunal Takhur.     Film personalities Manoj Bajpayee, Sunil Shetty, Ajay Devgan, Paresh Rawal, Vijendra Prasad were felicitated during the program.    Spanish film maker Carlos Saura was awarded with Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award.    Actor Chiranjivi was confirmed with Indian personality of the year award.      The theme of the opening ceremony is “Evolution of Indian Cinema in the last 100 years”.     The Austrian film, Alma and Oskar, directed by Dieter Berner, was scr

15 films eye coveted Golden Peacock at IFFI 53

  Mumbai: As many as 15 films will compete for the coveted Golden Peacock at the 53rd edition of the International Film Festival of India, to be held from 20 November to 28 November in Goa.     The mouth-watering line-up comprises 12 International and 3 Indian films that represent the emerging trends in the aesthetics and politics of the art.    From the very first Golden Peacock awarded in the 3rd edition of IFFI, the prize has been amongst the most sought-after film awards in Asia. France to be featured in Country Focus at IFFI 53
